The argument was never about who madem ore money, just what came first. As a big Superman fan, I would have to say that The Dark Knight is 100% BETTER than Superman Returns and deserves to make more money. As a matter of fact I said this as well " I do agree however that Batman Begins was better than Superman Returns, no doubt. However, had it not been for Superman-The Movie from 1978, there would hav been NO Batman." in the above post.

Too bad you have a poor attention span. In any case, the timeline does not lie. Superman came before Batman on all fronts, comics, tv shows, radio shows etc and as I said ORIGINALLY the caped crusader(Batman) owes the Man of Steel(Superman) some gratitue.

Now, can't you just move on and stop arguing such a moot point.

I think the general public really settled the debate:
Superman Returns - $21 Million
The Dark Knight - $155 Million

Opening weekend!!!! Who is the winner, I think its pretty clear.....

Donsporter,
It did not. The only reason that movie was made as I stated:
1. The Max Fleisher THEATRICALLY releases Superman cartoons were a success.
2. Because there were many legal issues surrounding the similarities of Captain Marvel and Superman, they had to make a movie in order for the character to survive. They needed to do something to set the characters apart. If not for Superman and his success at the movies, there would be NO Captain Marvel movie (1941).

Touche, donsprter. If you look at the history of superheores and comics etc, you would see that Superman was created in 1938 whilst Captain Marvel(the DC Comics version) was created in 1940. There was a lot of issues with his character because he was in essence a carbon copy of the man of steel. The first superhero to arrive on celluloid was Superman a la the 1940 classic Max Fleishcher Cartoons.
Back to Batman, if you do your research you would see that the reason tha Batman was made was that Sam Hamm wh produced the 1989 Batman movie immediately commissioned a script in 1983 when the Superman franchise was a success. The reason that it was not made was because comic films were not as mainstream as they are now and it was very risky. It was when Tim Burton showed interest in the project after Beetlejuice that it picked up steam. Before that, the only place that Superhero movies could be viewed was on tv.
Next time you use the internet to research stuff, make sure you know all of the info before posting.

Yes I actually was able to sit through the Batman and Robin movies, “Holey rusted metal Batman” because I can enjoy the face value of a movie, something I believe you eluding to in your first post???

Not sure how you can so boldly say that if it were not for the Superman movie in 1978 that there would have been no Batman movie today, pretty bold. Some could argue that if it were not for “The Adventures of Captain Marvel” movie of 1941, I believe it was, that the man of steel would not have made it past the man of paper…..
